    Hi Ron,
Please consider me in pre-school – First Website

When I perform an ‘inspect element’ (‘View Source’ or Firebug) on my unpublished website to find the CSS line I want to change the line is prefaced with css?ver=1.1.9

Where do I locate the css?ver=1.1.9

The line number does not correspond in the style.css file. The ver=1.1.9 seems to be in genericon (no clue)

    Appreciate the help
    Janet

You don’t need to find the actual css file you can just copy the css code that displays on firebug, modify then add on the Custom CSS option of the theme. Your added codes should override the ones on the css files.

Besides, editing parent theme files is considered bad practice. You’re better off using a child theme or using the Custom CSS option mentioned above.
