Header with slider problems

Hi – I was wondering if anyone could help. I am transfering over to wordpress from an html site. I am using a frontier child theme. I cannot seem to get the header the way I want it. I would like our logo on the left side and a slider next to it to fill up the remaining space. Just cannot figure it out. I can get either by themselves but cannot get the correct format with both. The web site I am working in is california-river-rafting.com/wptest.
