Correct Language

    Hi Ron.

    Thanks for sharing your work.

    Im only just started working on my wordpress blog using your theme.

    I installed the english version and I intend to keep it like that.

    I did install the Portuguese version (my native language) to test and the issue below was still there.

    So my question is, how to correct certain works to fit my language. For example ” Read More” on the posts.

    What files to I change? I only found wp-content\themes\asteroid\languages\asteroid.pot but no “Read More” in there.

    If you want to make your own portuguese translations you can install the plugin called “codestyling localization”. This will enable you to create a portuguese translation for all of the text in the theme.

    But if you only want to change the text on the “Read More” button here are the steps

    1. Install the asteroid child theme.
    2. Edit the child theme’s functions.php (Dashboard -> Appearance -> Editor)
    and put this code:

    function asteroid_read_more_button_text($text) {
    return 'New Text';
}
add_filter('asteroid_continue_reading_text','asteroid_read_more_button_text');

    Replace the ‘New Text’ with your own words. Then save.

    I’m getting my categories ready now.

    I did read all other threads, and I have indeed installed asteroid child theme.

    The “Read More” is one example of some text I found I would need to translate.

    I will give the plugin a look has there are other words I’ll be translating.
